Lutheran Living Senior Campus is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the area. We offer the full range of senior living and services including age 55-plus town homes, independent living apartments, assisted living apartments, Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss care, and Medicare-certified short-term Transitional Care Center and Health Care Center for long-term skilled nursing.

Seniors enjoy carefree and maintenance-free living along with a variety of social, educational, and entertaining activities and events. Conveniences and services include housekeeping, transportation services, delicious meals and dining programs, welcoming community spaces, and emergency call systems for added peace of mind. As health needs change, additional health care services are available on our campus.

Our new Transitional Care Center offers the latest in new construction, medical management technology, and clinical expertise. Providing comprehensive rehabilitation for recovery after surgery, illness, injury, and hospitalization, we assist patients in achieving their best health and returning home.

Lutheran Living Senior Campus spiritual care includes a full-time chaplain and staff serving all faiths and supporting residents and families. Faith Chapel is open for weekly worship, prayer, and meditation.

Serving in a Christian tradition, Lutheran Living is a faith-based nonprofit organization affiliated with church-affiliated governing board and a Social Ministry Organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA),one of only four in Iowa. The Registered Nurse assists in the supervision and administration of the quality of nursing care for the facility. The Registered Nurse must possess a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing, theory and practice, including basic knowledge related to nursing such as medications, biological, physical, social, and medical sciences, and their application for a better understanding of resident
-care problems. The Registered Nurse assists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment which will be conducive to the best interest and welfare of the residents.

Administration

• Evaluate resident needs, conditions, and care, and assist in developing nursing care plans for individual residents, including rehabilitative and restorative activities and instruction in self-help.
• Communicate with family members regarding the condition and progress of the resident, including in-person discussion and answering of telephone inquiries.
• Assist the physicians in rounds when needed, reviewing physicians’ orders, ordering medications, maintaining residents’ charts, and transcribing physicians’ orders.
• Assist Nurse Managers with orientation and training programs for new employees in the department, as required.
• Assist the Director of Nursing or designee with implementation of guidelines and procedures for the department/facility.
• Make daily rounds to evaluate emotional and physical needs of residents during the tour of duty.
• Notify the physician and family of incidents or changes in the condition of a resident.
• Participate in all in-service meetings and CEU’s as required.
• Carry out and follow all facility personnel guidelines.
• Supervise Nursing Assistants/Nourishment Aides and Aide Helpers.
