Pharmacy Technician – Part time

Job Purpose And SummaryWithin our Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. You will assist in operational excellence, safe prescription fulfillment, effective communication, and customer experience while meeting all relevant legal and company SOPs.
Responsibilities- Follow company SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists in patient health.
- Follow workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and phone; offer immunizations and other services; and resolve or raise patient issues.
- Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stock, waiting‑bin inventories).
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, seek opportunities for clinical and technical learning.
- Be flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to nearby stores.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, CVS policies, controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy protections.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, offsite clinics) where allowed by law and with required training.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status for vaccine preparation and administration.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report incidents per public health requirements.
- Collect and document patient information for each applicable vaccine.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice.
- Age and education requirements:
- If no age requirement, minimum 16 years old.
- If no education requirement, high school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in high school or equivalency program.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, verify prescription accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation: help people, respond to patient reactions, maintain friendly demeanor.
- Communication skills: verbal and written, active listening, clear instruction delivery.
- Mathematical reasoning: calculate quantities for prescriptions.
- Problem resolution: choose best action when faced with challenging interactions.
- Physical demands: mobile, upright stance, lifting up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, repetitive finger motion, visual acuity for small tasks.
- Additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
- 1‑3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Willingness to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs.
20 hours
Pay Range$16.00 – $24.00 per hour
