How You'll Contribute

You will make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan‑of‑care intervention and serving as a patient‑care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting‑edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.

Qualifications And Requirements
  • Current state LPN license
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 14 days of hire
  • One year of nursing experience
What You Will Do
  • Under the direction of an RN or Med‑Surge Charge Nurse, contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Document patient care given.
  • Assist RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient’s status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 198‑bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24‑hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and short‑stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in‑patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.
