Keep Taking Classes While You Gain ExperienceYou should not have to put school on hold to start building your accounting career.
Brew City Accounting & Tax offers flexible part‑time or full‑time scheduling during tax season and works around your classes whenever reasonably possible. You can earn money, gain hands‑on tax experience, and strengthen your résumé while continuing your degree.
We expect interns to honor the schedule they commit to and communicate when something changes.
Meaningful tax‑season experience without the extreme hours sometimes associated with public accounting.
Start With TrainingYou will not be expected to know Brew City Accounting & Tax’s systems or tax‑preparation process on day one.
Your internship begins with structured training on our software, workflow, preparation standards, confidentiality requirements, and how Brew City Accounting & Tax operates. You will also learn how to document questions, respond to review notes, and ask for help when something is unclear.
The goal is to give you a strong foundation before your responsibilities begin to grow.
Training first. Then real work.
Prepare Real Returns. Take On More as You Grow. You will prepare real individual tax returns under supervision, beginning with work that matches your training and experience.
Every return is reviewed by an experienced tax professional, so you can learn from feedback while contributing to actual client work.
Start with returns that match your training. Take on more involved work as your accuracy and confidence grow.
Get Help When You Need ItQuestions are expected and encouraged at Brew City Accounting & Tax. Our open‑door culture gives you direct access to experienced professionals without working through layers of management.
You will also have a dedicated weekly check‑in to discuss your progress, questions, challenges, and next steps. You will receive regular support rather than being left to figure everything out on your own.
What interns tell us The open‑door environment and direct access to experienced professionals are consistently among the parts they value most.
Build Experience You Can Talk AboutBy the end of the season, you will have practical examples to discuss in future interviews. You will gain experience with:
- Preparing individual tax returns
- Working through review notes
- Using professional tax and workflow systems
- Documenting questions and conclusions
- Communicating clearly with a team
- Contributing to actual client work
Strong interns may return in future seasons with greater responsibility. Former Brew City Accounting & Tax interns have also used their experience here as a stepping stone to firms including CLA, Baker Tilly, and other larger accounting firms.
Leave with more than a résumé line. Leave with experience you can explain.
