OverviewResponsible for the manufacturing of precision machined components and for satisfying customers by meeting specifications and delivery requirements while pursuing continual improvement and achievement of established company goals.
Essential Duties- Operate a machine, perform all inspections, and make simple adjustments to keep the machine running; require judgment to adjust, check, and/or notify the set-up person when the machine needs resetting.
- Contact the Lead person or a qualified individual if machine adjustments are needed.
- Perform quality checks to ensure the product meets customer specifications.
- Achieve production rate and quality standards.
- Operate multiple machines and perform quality checks to ensure product meets customer specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Prepare machines and reload material.
- Ensure completed parts from the machine are delivered to the Receiving Department.
- Report concerns or irregularities to the Production Lead regarding machinery, safety, production, quality, and variances in meeting setup and run rates.
- Identify and assist in leading the implementation of Continuous Improvement.
- Maintain 5S cleanliness standard in the work area.
- Read and understand QP-13-01 for nonconforming materials and accurately fill out applicable quality-related forms.
- High school diploma or GED; and 1-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Use hand tools.
- Read and use micrometer.
- Read a dial caliper.
- Use comparator.
- Time-management skills.
- Effective communication.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and to refer such problems to the appropriate individual for decision-making.
- Ability to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner, representing WCS professionally.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding in carrying out detailed written or oral instructions.
The employee regularly uses hands and reaches with hands and arms; frequently stands, talks, or hears; occasionally walks, sits, climbs, or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; smells. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
