Physician - Hospitalist - OB

Overview

We are looking for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Obstetrician/Gynecologist who is board-certified or board-eligible. This position focuses on providing excellent care for mothers and is also about teaching and working together as a team.

• Provide care for obstetric patients 24 hours a day, every day.
• Help with labor and delivery, emergency situations, and care after childbirth.
• Check and manage patients during labor and help those who do not have an assigned doctor.
• Handle emergency gynecological situations.
• Work closely with obstetricians, experienced labor and delivery nurses, neonatal practitioners, and social workers.
• Work in a hospital with a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nearby.
• Teach and supervise OB/GYN residents, fellows, and medical students in a learning environment.
• Responsible for checking on patients, entering orders, and attending births.
• Work about 6 to 7 shifts each month, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
• Work at least 2 days on weekends each month.
• Participate in a holiday schedule that rotates among staff.

• Must be Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in OB/GYN (must get certified within 2 years).
• Must have experience and be comfortable with all kinds of OB and GYN surgery.
• Must have a valid Michigan medical license when starting the job.
• Must have a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and keep it updated.
• Clean history with malpractice and medical licenses.
