Job Description
Muskegon Community College, an associate degree-granting institution of higher education, is a center for lifelong learning which provides a person the opportunity to attain their educational goals by offering programs that respond to individual, community, and global needs. We are seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Instructors.

The Adjunct Instructor Pools are for applicants interested in future part-time teaching opportunities in our departments. These pools are always open for applications, but this does not imply immediate openings. Department chairs review applicant materials in advance to build a pool of eligible candidates, and may contact suitable applicants when a need arises.
Required Skills
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related area.
- Minimum of two years professional experience in industry.
- College teaching experience and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Experience with instructional technology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction, facilitating student learning, student recruitment, retention, success, assessment, curriculum development, and utilizing various instructional modes.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching assigned courses, including day, night, online, at main campus and extension centers.
- Establishing an effective learning environment.
- Preparing and maintaining reports related to student learning.
- Grading and providing timely feedback on assignments.
- Providing educational assistance during scheduled hours or by appointment.
- Encouraging and reviewing student opinion surveys.
- Maintaining professional knowledge and compliance training.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:
Mental Demands: Detailed work, student contact, deadline orientation, problem-solving, managing multiple priorities, emergency situations, confidentiality, on-call availability, working alone or with others, and handling interruptions.
Physical Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, carrying, lifting (up to 50 lbs), pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, climbing, reaching, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and working overhead.
Work Environment: Exposure to various conditions including humidity, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noise; generally a normal office environment; travel to campus locations required.
