Muskegon Community College is seeking to hire Continuing Education Instructors. The main purpose of this position is to teach non-credit classes offered by Muskegon Community College Continuing Education (CE). Courses will vary based on participant interest, including topics such as art (painting, pottery/ceramics, drawing), language (Spanish, American Sign Language, German), fitness (yoga, pilates, tai-chi), creative writing, and culinary arts. CE instructors are not covered by the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The instructor will create a class proposal including curriculum, class length, outcomes, and materials. They will coordinate with CE staff on scheduling, prepare and teach the class, and assess student satisfaction. This role supports the college’s community-focused, enrichment-oriented mission. The incumbent reports to the Continuing Education Coordinator in the Workforce Development department.
Essential FunctionsSkills & Qualifications
- Proven expertise in the topic area through experience or education.
- Teaching experience.
- Associate Degree or higher.
