Adjunct Pool Yoga Instructor
Inside Higher Ed, an associate degree-granting institution of higher education located in Muskegon, Michigan, provides lifelong learning opportunities across the community. We are seeking qualified candidates for the Adjunct Pool Yoga Instructor position.
The Adjunct Pool is for applicants interested in teaching as a part-time adjunct instructor. The pool is always open, but does not guarantee an immediate position. Department chairs will review approved candidates in the event of a teaching need.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a discipline or closely related field.
- Yoga certification.
- Prefer teaching experience at the college level.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
- Experience with instructional technology (preferred).
- Teach assigned courses, which may include day, night, and online courses at the main campus and extension centers.
- Establish an effective learning environment that maximizes documented student learning.
- Prepare, submit, and maintain reports related to student learning.
- Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, returning graded assignments to students in a timely manner, and assigning final grades for all students, meeting all institutional deadlines.
- Provide educational assistance to students during scheduled office hours or by appointment.
- Encourage completion of student opinion surveys and review summary information to enhance student success.
- Maintain professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Detailed work, student contact, deadline oriented, problem solving, multiple priorities & demands, emergency situations, confidentiality, on‑call availability, continual interruptions, working alone, faculty contact, working with others.
- Standing & walking, sitting, carrying, lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, climbing or balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, squatting, reaching with hands and arms, speaking or hearing, speaking English via phone or in person, vision, and ability to adjust and focus.
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat/cold, and moderate to loud noise levels.
- Normal office environment with minimal discomfort due to heat, dust, noise, and the like. Ability to travel to all campus locations required.
