Key Responsibilities- Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs using CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Interpret complex GD&T specifications and translate them into effective CMM measurement routines.
- Execute precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using CMM equipment.
- Analyze measurement data, identify non-conformances, and generate detailed inspection reports.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CMM program errors, measurement discrepancies, and equipment issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize part inspection processes and quality standards.
- Maintain CMM software, databases, and ensure proper program version control.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
- Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and 3D models.
- Hands‑on experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining CMM equipment.
- Strong understanding of metrology principles, measurement techniques, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in CAD software for fixture design and model manipulation.
- Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser scanners, optical comparators).
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software for data analysis.
- Ability to design and/or fabricate custom CMM fixtures.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation or data processing.
