Position: Reg Respiratory Therapist ( RRT )

Overview

Provide respiratory care to the sick and injured who present at MGHP for care. This includes ventilatory care, aerosolized medication delivery, mucous mobilization, resuscitation, acquisition of arterial blood gases, education and supervision of respiratory therapy students. Perform bedside assessments and provide assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers with questions regarding respiratory care. Perform diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care including EKG acquisition and pulmonary function determinations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients including ventilatory care and aerosolized medication delivery.
  • Perform mucous mobilization, resuscitation, and bedside assessments.
  • Acquire arterial blood gases and assist with interpretation as appropriate.
  • Educate and supervise respiratory therapy students.
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with questions regarding respiratory care.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care including EKG acquisition and pulmonary function testing.
Qualifications
  • Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Licensure by the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of respiratory care including diagnostics
  • Current Certification in Basic Life Support;
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
Work Schedule

36 hrs per week, 7p-7a, every other weekend, rotating holidays.
