Location: Grand Rapids

Employment Type: Full time

Shift: Rotating shift

Schedule: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week; 12‑hour shifts; every other weekend

Responsibilities:

  • Renders basic life support procedures to patients in a variety of settings consistent with state and local operating protocols.
  • Provides accurate oral reports to designated medical personnel.
  • Operates Pro‑Med vehicles in a safe, professional manner while attending to patient needs.
  • Communicates with dispatch via radio or telephone.
  • Completes all reports legibly, accurately, and on a timely basis.
  • At each shift change, checks operating supplies and vehicle using Pro‑Med’s shift checklist.
  • Inspects vehicle to ensure readiness for service (e.g., brakes, lights, fluids).
  • Performs all duties in a safe, courteous, confidential, and professional manner, always considering patient well‑being.
  • Provides medical examination and screening of patients consistent with Medical Control Authority protocols.
  • Uses safety and PPE equipment as required by law and company policies.
  • Maintains vehicles and quarters in accordance with Pro‑Med policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current EMT Basic license from the State of Michigan.
  • Valid State of Michigan motor vehicle operating license, with a continued safe driving history.
