Position SummaryContributes to the care of the patient by developing pharmacotherapeutic regimens and counseling utilizing pharmacology, pathophysiology, pharmacokinetics, and interpersonal communication skills. Provide clinical pharmacy and drug information services to serve hospital staff and collaborate with physicians. Engages in quality improvement and professional growth to meet hospital, departmental, and personal goals. Compound, package, and dispense medications and IV solutions and preparations as ordered.
Assist in the supervision of pharmacy technicians and interns in the operations of the pharmacy. Acts as a resource to students of various health disciplines.

Position Qualifications- BS degree in Pharmacy. Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. Advanced degrees (i.e., Doctor of Pharmacy) and residency training preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to interact appropriately and effectively with patients, family members, healthcare team members, ancillary departmental staff, medical staff, visitors and the public at large.
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties in a safe manner, adhering to policies and procedures in the delivery of patient care.
- Able to identify patient care concerns and problems outside scope of responsibility and initiate appropriate corrective action.
- Ability to change work priorities in consultation with supervisor as the situation warrants. Able to adapt to changing patient and department needs. Work environment requires considerable flexibility.
- Articulate and demonstrate commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of MGHP.
- Demonstrated commitment to hospital pharmacy practice, as demonstrated by recent (within 5 years) employment in hospital practice or advanced clinical pharmacy work.
