Position Overview
Muskegon Family Care Part-Time & PRN Pharmacist location 2201 S. Getty St., Muskegon, MI 49444. Under Pharmacy Director, collaborate with Medical Director and CEO to dispense appropriate prescriptions, maintain pharmacy flow, and oversee pharmacy technicians.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Dispense medication written by providers, ensuring patients understand prescription, usage, and side effects.
- Review patient prescription profiles via EHR to prevent drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions.
- Oversee pharmacy technicians to fill prescriptions timely, charge patients correctly, and maintain adequate drug inventory.
- Maintain drug formulary to provide appropriate drug therapy while properly utilizing resources of patients and third parties.
- Consult physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses on drug therapy, recommended based on primary literature, practice guidelines, patient variables, and assist with drug cost and specific regimens.
- Assist with development of medication therapy management program and provide one-on-one with patients to improve outcomes.
- Assist with development of procedures as part of Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Quality Improvement Committee and Medication Assisted Treatment Committee.
- Maintain courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude with co-workers, patients, families, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality.
- Regular and prompt attendance at work.
- All other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Licensure- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited school.
- Pharmacist State License required. Pharm D preferred.
- BLS Certification.
