Position Overview

Muskegon Family Care Part-Time & PRN Pharmacist location 2201 S. Getty St., Muskegon, MI 49444. Under Pharmacy Director, collaborate with Medical Director and CEO to dispense appropriate prescriptions, maintain pharmacy flow, and oversee pharmacy technicians.

• Dispense medication written by providers, ensuring patients understand prescription, usage, and side effects.
• Review patient prescription profiles via EHR to prevent drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians to fill prescriptions timely, charge patients correctly, and maintain adequate drug inventory.
• Maintain drug formulary to provide appropriate drug therapy while properly utilizing resources of patients and third parties.
• Consult physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses on drug therapy, recommended based on primary literature, practice guidelines, patient variables, and assist with drug cost and specific regimens.
• Assist with development of medication therapy management program and provide one-on-one with patients to improve outcomes.
• Assist with development of procedures as part of Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Quality Improvement Committee and Medication Assisted Treatment Committee.
• Maintain courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude with co-workers, patients, families, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality.
• Regular and prompt attendance at work.
• All other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited school.
• Pharmacist State License required. Pharm D preferred.
• BLS Certification.
