Job Description

Join Baker College as a part-time Barista for the Culinary Institute of Michigan at the Muskegon Campus. You will provide customer service, prepare beverages and baked goods, and help maintain a clean, professional café environment in compliance with health standards.

• Prepare specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, and offer high-quality baked goods and pastries.
• Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
• Ensure a clean, well-organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with Muskegon County Health Department sanitation and food-safety procedures.
• Manage weekly schedule, inventory, and product ordering.
• Accurately process customer transactions and perform register balance functions.
• Oversee quality control for baked goods and adhere to the professional dress code.
• Attend all staff meetings, training, and events.
• Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring new employees to uphold high café standards.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of cashier and customer service experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Barista and familiarity with supervisory roles and register balancing are desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks.

The successful candidate will embody a student-first philosophy and act as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.
