Parts Counterperson – West Michigan International / K&R Truck Sales

Join the team at West Michigan International (WMI) and K&R Truck Sales, a locally-owned group of companies dedicated to providing top-notch services in the truck dealership industry. With five locations across West Michigan, we offer an extensive range of services including truck sales, leasing/rental, financing, parts delivery, and more. We are currently seeking a Parts Counterperson to play a key role in our growth and success.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the parts sales process from start to finish.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding parts status.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with staff and customers.
  • Utilize the parts catalog to look up parts.
  • Provide price quotes and other information over the phone.
  • Deliver high-level service to both internal and external customers.
  • Fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks for stock accuracy.
  • Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that require immediate attention.
  • Process emergency orders for out-of-stock parts from external sources, if necessary.
  • Ensure all internal parts requests are billed on service repair orders.
  • Handle payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Prepare orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Commit to continuous learning about our inventory and product lines.
  • Respond promptly to changes in the market.
  • Set and achieve personal and company goals.
Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills via phone, email, and text.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a focus on customer service.
  • Prior experience with Heavy Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, RVs parts.
  • Knowledge of Heavy Duty Truck Parts Products.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Technical skills, including proficiency with MS Office products and web-based marketing applications.
