Position: District Director - OKDHS ONLY

Position

District Director – H15C Child Welfare

Location:

Muskogee and Eufaula, Oklahoma

Annual Salary: $77,405.10 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel:
Extensive. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain required car insurance. Hours may be on‑call, extended, and/or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, behavioral science, guidance and counseling, or public administration AND 6 years of professional social work or social science administration experience, including 3 years of qualifying experience in the assigned program as a supervisor, senior programs administrator, or program manager.
  • Or Master’s degree in social work, behavioral science, guidance and counseling, or public administration AND 5 years of professional social work or social science administration experience, including 3 years of qualifying experience in the assigned program as a supervisor, senior programs administrator, or program manager.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one (1) additional year of qualifying work experience for each year of required education.

* Note:

Professional experience in the listed fields must have been the primary job responsibility to be considered as qualifying. Incidental performance of professional work in any area(s) shall not be considered.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leadership position overseeing the day‑to‑day Child Welfare operations within an assigned district in Region 4.
  • Represents the agency as district spokesperson with community leaders, county and state officials.
  • Collaborates with Deputy Directors to ensure that all levels of staff have adequate resources to successfully perform their assigned work.
  • Oversees the district budget.
  • Supervises employees and reviews all personnel actions including recruitment, employment, promotional practices, performance management, employee discipline, grievance and dispute resolution, payroll and time/leave management.
