Responsibilities

The Glass Manufacturing Batch & Furnace Manager is responsible for furnace and batch house operations, including environmental controls and maintenance. Ensuring effective management of the department's labor, equipment, maintenance, and expense budgets.

  • Work in partnership with the Production and Quality Managers to produce glass containers while continuously improving levels of quality and efficiency.
  • Be accountable for supervising salary and hourly personnel engaged in all phases of plant's batch and furnace operation.
  • Manage incoming raw materials and glass formulas.
Qualifications

The Glass Manufacturing Batch & Furnace Manager should have:

  • Glass furnace operation and large scale glass melting operations experience
  • Experience supervising employees, planning work schedules and directing assignments.
  • The ability to plan and coordinate all preventive maintenance activities.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials Science or related Engineering field preferred
  • Glass Furnace Operations and large-scale glass melting operations experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 - $115,000 and includes a possible 12% short-term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
