The role of the Lead Pastor is to glorify Jesus by leading the staff to achieve the mission of Boulevard Christian Church of helping people find and follow Jesus.

The Lead Pastor is accountable to the Eldership of BCC. The Lead Pastor serves as an Elder of BCC.

• A. The Lead Pastor, alongside of the Elders, serve as the spiritual leaders of the congregation providing biblical guidance fostering a culture of faith, community, and service.
• B. Follow Jesus personally, leading from a deep relationship with Him that becomes the foundation by which ministry is developed and executed.
• C. Work with the Elders and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plans for the church’s growth, discipleship, and leadership development.
• D. Staff Development. Mentor, supervise and support church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment with leadership development. Assist the Staff in establishing SMART goals in each area, and where practical, in each ministry, that support our mission of Find and Follow. Develop systems of evaluating the performance for each Pastoral and Director Level Staff Members that will encourage accountability and challenge current methods for effectiveness.
  
  Establish team values to promote camaraderie and group support of one another.
• E. Teaching / Preaching:
  Preach and teach biblical principles that will help BCC to apply those principles in their lives. Develop an annual preaching calendar that includes the particular series, themes, who will be communicating each week and passages that will be used.
• F. Outreach / Find – Initiate innovative strategies to connect to the unchurched in the Muskogee area. Evaluate outreach efforts to measure success in finding and engaging new members.
• G. Discipleship / Follow. Initiate innovative strategies to help people follow Jesus. We believe that spiritual growth is best incubated through biblical teaching and community.
• H. In collaboration with the staff and Elders, create and manage a ministry budget that supports and reflects the vision/strategy of the church.

• Dynamic relationship with Jesus; displaying a life of following Jesus closely, professional maturity, high character, and exhibiting the Fruit of the Spirit.
• A 4-year degree (or equivalent) is required, with a Ministry/Bible emphasis preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in a multi staff congregation.
• 10+ years of Ministry Experience.

• The compensation package will be formed to meet the needs of the applicant. It will include:
  Salary, Expense Allowances, 403(b) Retirement Plan, Health Insurance for the employee, Continuing education opportunities, Sabbatical opportunities and vacation days.
• Relocation Expenses will be reimbursed.
• Vacation Days are determined by the number of years in the ministry.
