Maintenance Technician II (Night Shift)

Starting at $28.35/hr.

Description

Repairs and maintains diesel trucks by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all job duties required of a Technician I and II
  • Record clear and concise notes and charge out all parts used in TINA
  • Ensure all parts removed are tagged for warranty
  • Follow troubleshooting tree to diagnose and repair most codes
  • Diagnose and repair the following:
    • Oil and coolant leaks (EGR cooler, water pumps, failed seals, etc.)
    • Drivelines
    • Fuel systems including fuel pumps, injectors, etc.
    • Most EGR, ATD, DPF, and turbos
  • Knowledge to diagnose and repair body control systems
  • Understand truck computer electronic systems
  • Understand APUs enough to complete basic repairs
  • Can follow troubleshooting tree and diagnose and repair most codes
  • Diagnose and repair of drive lines

Qualifications
  • Education – One year certificate from college or technical school; ASE Diesel Certification; or three to six months related experience and/or training.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports; speak effectively before customers or employees.
  • Physical Demands – Must regularly stand, walk, use hands; lift up to 50 pounds; frequently climb or balance; occasionally sit.
  • Work Environment – Exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, extreme temperatures, vibration; moderate noise level.
Preferred Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • 3‑5 years’ experience as a Diesel Technician
  • 609 Certified
  • Air Brake Certified
  • Valid CDL License (a plus)
  • ASE Diesel Certification (a plus)
  • Detroit, Cummins, Volvo, MX Certified (a plus)
