Waste and Recycling Operative; Plant Operator

Overview

You will join as a Waste and Recycling Operative (Plant Operator) to assist in the safe operation of the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant. This is a hands-on role, assisting with the practical intake, weighing, offloading & cleaning of vehicles making deliveries, sorting and loading of food waste arriving on site. The role will assist with routine checking and maintenance activities and be part of a team which operates the site.

• Assist with the practical intake, weighing, offloading and cleaning of vehicles delivering waste to site.
• Sort and load food waste arriving on site.
• Support routine checks and maintenance activities on the AD plant.
• Operate as part of a team to ensure safe and efficient site operations.

• Follow health and safety and environmental regulations; maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness on the site.
• Be positive toward Health and Safety and working with regulatory bodies (e.g., HSE, Environment Agency).
• Ideally have relevant experience from a related industry and a driving licence;
  Telehandler experience and a certificate are advantageous but training will be provided if not held.
• Work Monday to Friday with weekends on a rota basis. Overtime is paid for approved additional hours worked.

• Job Type: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday; hours between 6am – 8:30pm on a rotating shift pattern including weekends
• Salary: up to £28,500 dependent on experience + Overtime
• Benefits: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, 4% employer pension and x4 life assurance
