About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee their manufacturing facilities in East London , specializing in the production of high-volume FMCG products . This role is critical for ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective production operations, maintaining stringent quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a diverse operational team, manage production schedules, optimize resource allocation, and foster a culture of excellence and safety within the plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of daily manufacturing operations to ensure timely and efficient production of FMCG goods .
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and control production costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations within the manufacturing plant.
  • Oversee quality control processes to maintain high product standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the production and operational teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, maintenance, and R&D departments to optimize production planning and resource utilization in East London .
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical), Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on the FMCG industry .
  • Proven track record in improving operational efficiency, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and managing production budgets.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems (e.g., ISO), and safety standards.
  • Experience managing large teams and complex production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
