Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant
Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (Myrtle Beach Campus)

PIA seeks a detail-oriented, professional receptionist/administrative assistant to serve as the first point of contact at our Myrtle Beach Campus. The role encompasses front‑desk responsibilities along with various administrative and support tasks, including communication management, event coordination, student services support, and record maintenance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech‑savvy, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

Base Pay Range

$16.00/hr – $18.00/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for PIA; greet and check in visitors and direct them appropriately.
  • Answer and route phone calls; respond to general inquiries.
  • Prepare and process incoming/outgoing mail, including express and overnight shipments; maintain postage reports.
  • Coordinate and arrange meetings; reserve and prepare facilities as needed.
  • Serve as a Test Center proctor for PSI exams.
  • Assist students with general questions and paperwork.
  • Handle bookstore sales and assist with ordering supplies, books, and materials.
  • Prepare marketing packets and mailings; serve as photographer for marketing and in‑house events.
  • Organize and maintain invoices, correspondence, and other records; perform data entry into various systems.
  • Participate in occasional school events outside normal working hours.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills & Education
  • Associate degree or higher in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in administrative support or related areas.
  • Excellent interpersonal, phone, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Comfort with technology;
    Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Ability to complete tasks and paperwork in a timely, organized manner.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for offsite errands (post office, event planning, etc.).
Schedule
  • Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm (Occasional changes throughout the semester)
