OpportunityBeach Security is responsible for providing security in and around the fill area to keep unauthorized persons from dredging operations. The position reports to the Fill Foreman or Assistant Fill Foreman. Shifts are typically Monday‑Sunday 12‑hour shifts, day or night, and the role is a temporary, project‑based position requiring flexibility.

- Maintain a sentry post at the entrance to the construction area to keep unauthorized persons from entering the active construction zone.
- Perform escort duties for bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is operated outside the designated construction area and members of the public are present; tasks may be performed by walking or by use of a utility vehicle.
- Perform pipe security checks by walking or driving the shorepipe to identify any security or safety concerns as they relate to the general public (e.g., identifying areas where the public is not using a crossover or where the shorepipe is leaking and may cause safety hazards).
- Periodically spend 2‑3 days watching safety‑training videos relevant to the position’s duties.
- May be assigned to other duties.
- Capable of walking on uneven surfaces (e.g., beach sand).
- Capable of performing escort duties for the bulldozer or wheel loader when equipment is operated outside the designated construction area and members of the public are present (tasks may be performed by walking or driving).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid interpersonal skills to interact with the public.
- Must have own steel‑toed boots (non‑billable to GLDD; GLDD will provide remaining PPE).
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent degree.
- Valid state driver’s license.
