Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze new case files to create action plans, establish budgets, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Review and assess pleading requirements, delegating tasks to paralegals as appropriate.
- Draft discovery responses and manage document production efficiently.
- Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery proceedings, providing detailed reports and updates.
- Lead settlement negotiations, seek authority approvals and prepare for trial proceedings.
- Maintain continuous communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure seamless case management.
Requirements:
- 1-5 years of litigation experience.
- Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn new technology platforms.
Education:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent legal degree.
Certifications:
- Active membership with the South Carolina Bar.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
- Excellent writing and drafting abilities.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management skills to balance a caseload efficiently.
