Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze new case files to create action plans, establish budgets, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Review and assess pleading requirements, delegating tasks to paralegals as appropriate.
  • Draft discovery responses and manage document production efficiently.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery proceedings, providing detailed reports and updates.
  • Lead settlement negotiations, seek authority approvals and prepare for trial proceedings.
  • Maintain continuous communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure seamless case management.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn new technology platforms.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent legal degree.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the South Carolina Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent writing and drafting abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management skills to balance a caseload efficiently.
