Advanced Electronic Maintenance

Primary Function

Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electronic equipment and systems in a manufacturing environment by interpreting blueprints, calibrating equipment, and replacing components. Key skills include knowledge of electronics, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and strong problem‑solving and communication abilities. This is a first shift position - Mon‑Fri, 7 AM – 3 PM. • Troubleshoot operating errors in manufacturing equipment, systems, microprocessors, PLC’s, electronic test equipment. Support equipment for support groups and facilities.
• Intermediate knowledge of micro steppers and drivers, linear actuators, and linear motors.
• Knowledge of 208 V three phase voltage and DC control circuits.
• Repair equipment – both electronically and mechanically.
• Integrate software or hardware components using computers and microprocessors.
• Perform PM’s both electronically and mechanically and maintain equipment logs.
• Maintain spare parts inventory.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned within the scope of the Facilities Department. This may include electrical, mechanical, fabrication, and facility work, in addition to electronics work.

• Knowledge of electronics including but not limited to circuit boards, processors, chips and PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Ability to troubleshoot – determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do to correct the errors.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and communication abilities.
• Ability to work in all areas of manufacturing, including clean rooms, maintenance, outdoors and under yellow light.
• Ability to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required, such as safety shoes, safety glasses or hearing protection.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform work duties with little or no supervision.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, work in tight spaces, walk, stoop, climb, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds.

• An associate’s degree in Electronics or formal electronics training in the U.S. military.
• A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience with repair and maintenance of electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment.
