Full‑Time Veterinary Assistant

Carolina Forest Veterinary Hospital
📍 Myrtle Beach, SC

Carolina Forest Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Full‑Time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, team‑oriented 7‑doctor small animal practice in beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC. We are a high‑volume clinic caring exclusively for dogs and cats
, with a strong focus on wellness care, preventive medicine, and surgery.

Compensation

💲 $14 – $20 per hour
, based on experience and skill level

Schedule

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Sunday: Closed

We prioritize work/life balance with protected lunch breaks and an emphasis on leaving on time.

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities & Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Efficiently run and assist with appointments
  • Safe and proper animal restraint
  • Solid understanding of preventive care and vaccine protocols
  • Ability to explain the “why” behind vaccines to clients
  • Knowledge of core vs. non‑core vaccines (including Lyme)
  • Confident client communication regarding preventives

Preferred Experience:

  • Surgical assistance
  • Dental cleanings and dental charting
