Description

About This Role
Handling residential plumbing service tasks: troubleshooting, installing, repairing plumbing systems, diagnosing issues, executing repairs and installations, and ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with local codes. Requires strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication with homeowners.

• Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
• Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
• Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
• Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
• Testing for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
• Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
• Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
• Keeping equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
• Maintaining safety equipment
• Additional duties as assigned

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in residential and commercial plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations
• Experience with pipe cutters, threaders, soldering tools, and other plumbing equipment
• Problem‑solving skills to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
• Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
• Track record of delivering excellent customer service and professionalism
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work‑management software to track tasks and report progress
• Leadership and teamwork skills to lead apprentices, work within a team, and coordinate with other trades
• Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls as needed
• Valid driver’s license with clear driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience

Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License. Additional certifications such as backflow prevention and gas piping are a plus.

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
• Ability to drive
• Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces
• Capacity to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, both in person and by telephone
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, or snow
