Service Technician

Valenti Ford is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in Mystic, CT. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle makes and models to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex vehicle maintenance and repairs in a timely manner.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status and needed repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety policies.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and parts used.
• Continuously update technical skills and knowledge of current vehicle technology.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an automotive service technician or similar role preferred.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and technical service bulletins.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in Mystic, CT.
• ASE certification is a plus.

The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and ASE & Ford certified. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification
• Ability to obtain Ford Certification
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
