JobPurpose
Our Staff Pharmacists play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. Supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing the pharmacy team, you are accountable for the management, oversight, and operation of all aspects within your pharmacy.
Responsibilities- Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback.
- Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on protecting cold‑chain products and following inventory best practices.
- Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed.
- Be flexible with scheduling and business needs, and support the Pharmacy Manager by writing the pharmacy schedule when directed.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, completing required trainings and CMEs, and seek opportunities to expand knowledge.
- Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
- Understand and comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS Health policies, controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping, and maintain patient privacy and a safe workplace.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to concentrate on tasks, and effective communication with patients and colleagues.
- Customer service focus and flexibility to meet patient and business needs.
- Mathematical reasoning to calculate medication doses and supplies.
- Issue resolution skills to handle challenging interactions.

Pay Range$65.00 – $81.00 per hour (includes base pay and eligibility for bonus, commission or incentive programs)
