Job Title
: BI (Tableau) Architect

Purpose of the Position:

The role is to lead the design, development, and deployment of Tableau-based analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tableau architecture, data visualization, and stakeholder management, along with the ability to coordinate onsite activities, liaise with clients, and ensure seamless project execution.

Key Result Areas and Activities:

• Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements - Collaborate with business teams to capture and translate business requirements into actionable deliverables
• Requirements & Solution Design - Gather & Translate complex business requirements into scalable Tableau dashboards and visualizations that drive data-driven decision-making. Ensure dashboards are intuitive, structured, and meet stakeholder priorities.
• Architecture and Design - Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-wide Tableau analytics solutions. Collaborate with data engineers and database administrators to optimize data sources and ensure efficient data integration.

Work and Technical Experience:

• Act as the primary liaison between client stakeholders and project teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, requirements, and deliverables.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and collaborate with offshore engineers, data modelers, and visualization experts for execution.
• Conduct requirement workshops, backlog grooming, UAT sessions, and training for business stakeholders as needed.
• Expert proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Prep, Tableau Online.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex data integration and Tableau issues independently.
• Experience in performance tuning of Tableau dashboards and server environments.
• Proactively identify gaps, opportunities, and process improvements in the existing system
• Provide support on data-related insights queries for end users, especially on data querying and data analysis
• Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate and resolve them promptly.
• Ensure adherence to data security, compliance, and governance standards within Tableau environments.

Essential Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in BI, primarily in Tableau Development
• Proven ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and user stories.
• Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills.
• Experience working in a global delivery model with effective onsite-offshore collaboration.
• Strong command over SQL, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), and cloud data warehouses.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Background in the retail industry is a strong plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (Master's degree is a plus)
• 7+ years in Tableau architecture and development with retail BI experience.
