Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Pharmacy Extern to join our Meds2

Beds Program on a weekend-only basis. This role supports timely medication delivery and patient education for those being discharged from the hospital, playing a key role in reducing readmissions and improving patient outcomes.



Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed medications directly to discharged patients.
• Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and care teams to ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Accurately document prescriptions and patient interactions in compliance with hospital and pharmacy protocols.
• Provide coverage during weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy program.
• Holds a valid pharmacy intern/extern license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to patient-centered care.

Schedule

• Weekends Only (Saturday and Sunday)

• Occasional holiday coverage required
