• Check in patients for appointments, collect patient co-pays, answer telephones, take accurate messages, schedule appointments, and check insurance eligibility.
• Use the electronic medical record (EPIC) to update required information.
• Acknowledge and greet patients, register for appointments, verify/update patient and insurance information.
• Keep appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of the patient’s arrival; inform patients of delays and anticipated wait times.
• Collect, record, and communicate patient balances; understand different payer practices and deductibles.
• Assist patients with Financial Assistance Paperwork; manage credit via payment plans.
• Maintain a neat work area and office supplies; follow Cash Control Policy and balance daily financial activities; ensure collection of payments at time of service.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus. Medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.
