Evening Shift

• The Sterile Processing (SP) Technician performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization and storage of re-usable surgical instrumentation.
• Saint Alphonsus Health System offers a full range of surgical services, including both inpatient and outpatient surgery serving communities from Southwest Idaho to Southeast Oregon.

• Clean, inspect, and package surgical instruments, specialty sets and other reusable instruments following all surgical procedures and regulations established by OSHA, The Joint Commission, and Saint Alphonsus.
• Operate sterilization equipment including cart washer, washer disinfectors, steam sterilizers, other sterilizers, heat sealers, and Sterris machines.
• Prepare surgical case carts and respond to requests for instrumentation and/or supplies for surgical procedures.
• Order and restock the surgery department with supplies and instruments.

• This position is a part time position.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required.
• Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred.

• General Orientation is virtual and in-person during your first week.
• You will be assigned a preceptor (trainer) who will train you in the different areas of Sterile Processing (decontamination, cleaning, instrument reassembly, and sterilization), one to two weeks in each area.
• Training is typically on day shift, Mondays - Fridays. If there is adequate staffing you will be able to train on the shift you are hired for.
