The Opportunity:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the facility and property by completing routine and preventative maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing minor and major repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks.
  • Assist to ensure all facilities are in working order and maintained. Ensure all maintenance activities in a facility are carried out efficiently.
  • Repair and treat structures such as showers, floors, sinks, walls, carpets and roofs.
  • Perform minor repairs, troubleshoot, and adjust locks on cabinets, locks, closets, desks.
  • Repair door hinges, clean plugged key slots, change filters on ventilation, heating, and air conditioning units.
  • Assist with coordination and completion of layout, building and installation of cabinetry.
  • Ensures all facilities are in working order and maintained and reports any issues to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Responsible for 24‑hour emergency maintenance service as needed or scheduled.
  • Assist with inspections of property and perform required maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain and uphold the quality and standards of the organization. Adhere to customer service standards.
  • Keep and complete records for all maintenance and service activities conducted.
  • Interact with other departments to ensure proper functioning of all systems in the facilities.
  • Assisting with compliance and regulations for facilities and retail locations.
  • Provide information to maintain inventory of machinery, parts, tools and equipment for the maintenance department.
  • Demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA’s policy and procedure.
  • Ensure confidentiality of data collected and stored.
  • Set priorities and meet deadlines; plan and carry out assignments, resolve conflicts, and communicate with others. Maintain good working relations internally and externally. Show self‑direction and motivation.
  • Meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned.
  • Travel from site to site; inspect facilities, buildings and grounds for routine maintenance; prioritize repairs and renovations. Frequent travel by conventional means within the region and to other locations as required (~90% within Parkland USA region).
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Requirements:
  • Current CDL B License.
  • 3–5 years of experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to efficiently use various power and hand tools.
  • Basic mathematical principles.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
