At Mana Resources, we believe in making a difference through compassion, connection, and the Spirit of Aloha. Since 2008, we have been dedicated to supporting individuals and families throughout our community through mental health services, skill-building, and compassionate care.
We are looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Youth Respite Care Provider to join our team! We would love to find someone who has experience working with children and youth experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges, particularly those with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
What Is Respite Care?Respite care provides short-term support for children and youth with emotional or behavioral health needs while giving their parents or caregivers a much-needed break.
As a Respite Care Provider, you'll spend one-on-one time with youth, engaging in positive activities, building connections, and providing a safe, supportive environment.
The goal is simple:
Have fun, build trust, encourage positive experiences, and make a difference in a young person's day!
- Spend quality time with children and youth in their homes, out in the community, or at Mana Resources.
- Plan and participate in fun, age-appropriate activities such as going to the park, playing games, arts and crafts, exercising, or exploring community activities.
- Provide a safe, positive, and structured environment.
- Help youth practice healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions.
- Support youth during challenging moments using patience, understanding, and de-escalation techniques.
- Build on each youth's individual strengths, interests, and abilities.
- Communicate professionally with caregivers, supervisors, and the Mana team.
- Complete required documentation and follow program guidelines.
We understand that flexibility matters!
- Hours are flexible and coordinated with the youth, their caregiver, and the Respite Supervisor.
- Opportunities may include afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- During the school year, many respite sessions take place after school and into the early evening.
- Scheduling varies based on individual client and family needs.
- High school diploma or GED required, higher education preferred.
- Experience working with children or youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), mental health challenges, or behavioral needs is preferred.
- A patient, compassionate, dependable, and positive attitude.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with youth and families.
- Comfortable participating in physical and recreational activities.
- Valid Idaho driver's license, reliable transportation, current vehicle registration, insurance, and a safe driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to successfully complete an enhanced criminal background check.
- Willingness to complete required Magellan and Mana Resources training.
At Mana, you're more than just an employee, you're part of our ‘Ohana!
We believe in supporting our team, celebrating individual strengths, and creating an environment where both our employees and the individuals we serve feel valued and respected.
If you have a heart for helping youth, enjoy being active in the community, and want a flexible position where your time truly makes a difference, we would love to hear from you!
