Trainee Apprentice Automotive Technician – Nanaimo Auto Service Centre

Position Overview: Provide diagnostic, repair, and service to members’ vehicles to meet BCAA's high standards for safety, performance, and outstanding service.

• Complete all repairs to meet BCAA’s high standards for safety, performance and outstanding service to our Members.
• Perform oil and tire changes and basic automotive repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment that complies with environmental standards, operational policies and procedures while ensuring equipment is in good working condition.
• Assist other technicians in the shop as needed.
• Achieve productivity goals while maintaining a high level of member satisfaction.

• High school diploma; completion of an Automotive Foundation program is preferred.
• Minimum six months of technical training and experience within an automotive repair facility.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs (32 kg), bend, reach, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook.
• Clean BC Driver License Class 7 or better.
• Highly motivated, effective communication, multitasking in a fast paced environment, adaptable, thorough problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills.
• Flexible hours and weekend work not a problem.

Salary range: $38,648.52 to $48,310.56. Eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%. The position includes BCAA benefits, pension plan, paid time off, wellness dollars, and other benefits as described by BCAA.
