Position: Safety Officer for Civil Construction Projects
Become a Civil Construction Safety Officer with Hazelwood Construction and ensure safety on major BC projects, including hydropower upgrades. This role involves extensive travel and long-term assignment in remote locations.

Hazelwood Construction seeks a seasoned Safety Officer committed to high standards of safety excellence. You will implement the OH&S Management Plan, promote a safety culture, conduct safety observations, and lead incident investigations for upcoming BC Hydro projects. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in rugged conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce the OH&S Management Plan

• Conduct daily safety meetings and inspections

• Lead incident investigations and manage corrective actions

• Train workers on safety procedures and protocols

• Coordinate inspections of equipment and PPE

Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma; post-secondary preferred

• Recognized safety designation (CSO, NCSO or equivalent)

• Valid OFA Level 3 certification

• Strong MS Office skills

• Ability to work extended durations in remote areas
