Part-Time Clinical Hygienist Instructor

Shape future dental hygienists at Vancouver Island University as a Part-Time Clinical Hygienist Instructor. This role supports flexible teaching and student skill enhancement throughout the academic year.

You'll collaborate with faculty in health sciences to mentor dental hygiene students. Responsibilities include attending clinical sessions for hands-on feedback and working on teaching resources. Your guidance will help students hone their skills in a supportive, non-evaluative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend scheduled clinical and seminar sessions for student feedback

• Support faculty in maintaining clinical teaching resources

• Provide individual or group remediation for skill development

• Conduct clinical demonstrations to illustrate techniques

• Participate in institutional committees and initiatives

Requirements:

• Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent

• Diploma in dental hygiene from an accredited program

• Minimum five years recent clinical practice experience

• Registered Dental Hygienist (C) with BCCOHP registration

• Current CPR-Basic Life Support certification
