Position: General Surgeon Role BC
Advance your career as a 0.7 FTE General Surgeon with the Division of General Surgery at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Work within a collaborative team of eight surgeons, gaining invaluable experience in managing diverse surgical conditions.

In this role, you will address a wide array of surgical issues, including endoscopy and endocrine conditions. Candidates holding subspecialty qualifications in foregut, colorectal, or surgical oncology will be preferred. The position includes a commitment to seven Acute Care Surgery weeks per year with opportunities for trauma service participation and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address a range of general surgical conditions effectively

• Commit to 7 Acute Care Surgery weeks annually

• Provide surgical assistance during trauma services as desired

• Teach incoming General Surgery Residents

• Foster collegial relationships within the surgical division

Requirements:

• Eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification

• Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

• Proven experience in general surgical management

• Participation in teaching medical students and residents

• Openness to share resources within the surgical team
