Position: Clinical/Lab Instructor(s), Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program follows a concept-based curriculum, promoting the integration of concepts across various health contexts, including health promotion, gerontology, acute and chronic health challenges, community nursing, and mental health.

Duties:

  • Prepare and deliver classes, design and grade student assignments and tests, and facilitate the integration of theory and practice.
  • Participate in program and faculty meetings, liaise with support staff and faculty.
  • Contribute to teaching excellence, scholarly activity, and community involvement.
  • Respond to diverse cultural and academic backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Candidates with a BSN and at least 5 years of experience will instruct courses such as NURS
    104, NURS
    111, NURS
    114, NURS
    175, NURS
    201, NURS
    204, NURS
    211, NURS
    214, and NURS
    275.
  • This position may require travel to various practice settings on Vancouver Island.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSN degree from an accredited institution and current practicing registration with BCCNM.
  • At least five years of recent full-time practice in different care contexts.
  • Ability to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
  • Ability to work effectively with a dynamic program team.
  • Proficiency in applying information technology to teaching.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a clinical educator.
  • PhD or Master's degree with three years of teaching experience from an accredited institution.
