ASD Educational Support Assistant

Support students with ASD in a nurturing role as an Education Assistant. This engaging position focuses on community and home settings within a faith-based educational environment in Nanaimo.

In this part-time role, you will provide critical educational support tailored to a student with autism. Your responsibilities include collaborating with the Inclusive Education department to implement effective learning strategies and maintaining communication with home-learning families. This position also demands participation in organized community classes and adherence to Christian values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide customized support for ASD in community settings

• Develop and implement behavior support plans

• Collaborate with Inclusive Education for tailored support

• Attend community and education classes weekly

• Maintain communications with families and staff members

Requirements:

• Education Assistant or Special Education Assistant certification

• Experience in supporting ASD students required

• BC high school graduation or similar credential

• Strong Christian beliefs with a pastoral reference

• Criminal Record Check for vulnerable sector compliance
