The Modern Languages Studies Department at VIU invites applicants for a Limited Term Contract Instructor position in Spanish. You will teach Beginning and Intermediate Spanish courses across the Fall and Spring terms while assessing student performance and facilitating placements. Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct four Spanish courses including introductory levels

• Assess students and recommend appropriate placements

• Participate actively in departmental and institutional committees

• Offer student support services and engagement opportunities

• Engage in professional activities relating to language instruction

Requirements:

• M.A. in Spanish or related field required

• Evidence of effective teaching at post-secondary level

• Near-native proficiency in Spanish necessary

• Experience with classroom technology is a plus

• Commitment to enhancing student engagement and success
