Position: Vancouver Island Spanish Instructor Position
Join the Vancouver Island University team and inspire students through Spanish instruction. This role focuses on fostering linguistic and cultural skills in an engaging classroom environment.
The Modern Languages Studies Department is inviting applications for a Spanish Instructor to teach both introductory and intermediate courses each semester. Responsibilities include assessing students and contributing to the broader academic community through committee involvement. You will engage in activities that promote student success and learning beyond the classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct classes for Beginning and Intermediate Spanish levels

• Assess and appropriately place students in courses

• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative initiatives

• Provide support to students in various academic contexts

• Showcase commitment to teaching and student engagement
Requirements:

• M.A. in Spanish or a related field from an accredited institution

• Proven excellence in post-secondary teaching

• Near-native proficiency in Spanish language

• Ph.D. in Spanish is a plus

• Ability to implement instructional technology in classrooms
