ELL Instructor

Position: Vancouver Island University ELL Instructor

In this role, you will be responsible for instructing various English courses, developing engaging instructional materials, and implementing effective student evaluations. Your commitment to inclusivity is vital in fostering a diverse learning environment. Collaborate with instructional faculty and contribute to the overall mission of student growth and development at VIU.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and guide students in English for Academic Purposes

• Design innovative course materials and assessments

• Accurately grade assignments and record student progress

• Work closely with Student Success Advisors

• Participate in departmental meetings and initiatives

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree from an appropriately accredited institution

• 1000 hours of documented ELL/EFL teaching experience

• Qualifications meeting TESL Canada Professional Standard One

• Familiarity with essential computer tools

• Native English proficiency or equivalent
