About the RoleAllnorth’s Nanaimo Team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise across complex multi-discipline industrial engineering studies and detailed design projects. They will deliver innovative technical solutions within allocated schedules and budgets, support proposal development, client engagement, quality assurance, and may be involved in the technical analysis aspects of projects. Working collaboratively with other Allnorth groups, they will deliver Fiber & Chemical Industries related projects for clients throughout the region.

What You’ll Bring To The Team- Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, and a proven ability to collaborate with team members and clients in a multi-disciplined environment.
- Mechanical and Piping Discipline Lead role, taking overall responsibility for the project design requirements.
- Technical competency and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with project development and execution in an industrial environment.
- Design and field experience in the Pulp & Paper, Mining, Oil & Gas and/or related process industries.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered as a P.Eng in the province of British Columbia.
- Registered or eligible to register as a P.E. in any US state.
- 7-10 years mechanical and piping experience, ideally in a consulting environment.
- Engineering and design experience within a multi-discipline 3D model workflow/environment.
- Experience with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 piping codes, API 650, ASME Section VIII Div 1, NFPA codes, CSA Z662 and CSA B149.
- Experience with the design registration of power piping systems and pressure vessel design modifications with the safety authority.
- Experience with sizing, selection and layout for process equipment for the process industries.
- Experience with developing procurement datasheets, specifications and engineering/construction work packages.
- Design experience with engineering software packages such as Pipe Flo, Auto Pipe, Caesar, Compress, Tank, AFT Arrow, AFT Impulse and Solid Works FEA.
