About this role
We are recruiting for an energetic, business savvy, and driven Project Manager/Estimator to join our Service team in our Nanaimo office. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.
Houle's Service Division provides electrical solutions across a wide range of market sectors, working with clients to ensure predictable and safe operation of their facilities. Our teams manage all aspects of the job from estimating and tendering to financials, procurement, dispatch, and scheduling.
Working alongside our solutions-oriented team of skilled project managers and estimators, you'll blend your technical experience with a commitment to customer service to deliver successful projects and build lasting client relationships.
Your responsibilities
Work with clients and identify potential business opportunitiesEstimate projects and submit tendersReview contracts for onerous clauses and conditionsMaintain good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors and end usersManage project financials (including billing), purchasing, schedules and labourMitigate project risk, deficiencies and estimate changes as neededWork with internal stakeholders, field staff and customers, to ensure projects remain on track, on budget and meet expectationsBe present on jobsites when requiredReview the project at completion with the foreman and superintendent to discuss successes and challengesYour experience and skills
Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate requiredMinimum 2 years' experience in Electrical Project Management and/or Estimating in a related industryExperience estimating projects and/or change ordersExperience in electrical service (commercial projects) preferredFSR B, an assetPrevious experience with estimating programs, specifically Accubid, an assetProven ability to build strong relationshipsStrong attention to detail and good organizational skillsStrong communication and team working skillsGood computer skills including MS Office, Procore, Teams, etc.About Houle
