Solid Waste Compliance Officer RDN

As a mid-level Solid Waste Compliance Officer with the RDN, you will promote and enforce Solid Waste Bylaws to support waste diversion goals. This pivotal role involves onsite inspections, addressing non-compliance, and maintaining regulatory adherence. You’ll work at either the Regional Landfill or Church Road Transfer Station, helping the community understand compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect inbound loads for disposal compliance
• Educate on contamination and apply enforcement actions
• Monitor licensed haulers for regulatory adherence
• Investigate illegal dumping and coordinate clean-ups
• Respond to complaints and maintain compliance records
Requirements:
• High school diploma and relevant post-secondary education
• Minimum three years of related experience in local government
• One year of compliance and enforcement experience
• Level 1 Bylaw Enforcement course required
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
