Join Canucks Autism Network as a Support Worker in Nanaimo and foster meaningful connections with autistic children. You'll help facilitate engaging programs in a variety of community settings this Fall 2026.
The Canucks Autism Network (CAN) is seeking dedicated Support Workers to inspire and support autistic youth aged 3-18+ in diverse activities. As a Support Worker, you will provide adaptations for engaging participation, promoting individual goals, and a safe environment. Commitment to all program sessions is essential for this position, which includes multiple community settings around Nanaimo.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create safe and inclusive environments for participants
• Adapt activities for meaningful engagement
• Support individual development and well-being
• Collaborate with supervisors, coaches, and volunteers
• Communicate effectively with families and staff
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 years
• Availability for evenings and weekends
• Ability to obtain required background checks
• Experience with autism is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
