Mental Health Support Worker

Transform lives as a Mental Health & Addiction Support Worker with EHN Canada in Nanaimo, BC. This full-time position involves nights, directly supporting patients with emotional and daily challenges.

As a vital part of the EHN Canada team, you'll contribute to comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment while coordinating closely with clinical staff.

Your role includes facilitating therapeutic meetings, providing emotional support, and conducting facility rounds to ensure patient well-being. This position emphasizes active participation in a compassionate care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach life skills like housekeeping and organization

• Facilitate community meetings to address patient concerns

• Monitor and support emotionally distressed patients

• Safeguard the facility and patients after hours

• Document incidents and patient activities throughout shifts

Requirements:

• Cert. from Health Care Worker Program or similar

• Trauma informed training is an asset

• Grade 12 completion or equivalent

• Ability to work the night shift required

• Strong communication skills in writing and verbally
